KARACHI: A minimum of one person was eliminated and two have actually been reported missing, as fire broke out at an oil tank filled with 1000-tonnes of fuel on Saturday at the Kemari Oil Terminal.

8 fire engines of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) are dousing the fire, fire brigade officials stated.

Foam and chemical is being used to snuff out the fire, officials included.

The fire broke out at Pakistan State Oil depot, KPT fire chief said.

A Geo News press reporter said the fire has been triggered due to Methanol chemical and such fires are unnoticeable to the human eye.

At least 25 people were killed and 58 injured when an oil tanker at Gadani Ship-breaking yard captured fire on November 1. It took 4 days to snuff out the lethal fire.
